Staying safe

Almost every deal here ends with two people meeting for five minutes. A few habits make that boring, which is what you want:

• Meet on campus, somewhere with people around, in daylight. The library steps, not the far end of a parking lot.
• Tell someone where you're going, or bring them.
• Inspect the thing before you hand over money. Switch the laptop on, ride the cycle, open the book.
• For physical items, inspect the item before paying. Avoid advance payments, deposits or token amounts to "hold" an item.
• CampusHub247 will never ask you for your OTP, UPI PIN, password or payment to complete a transaction.
• If it feels off, walk away. You owe a stranger nothing.

Nothing you can be reached on appears on a listing, a group post or your profile. A signed-in student has to ask to see it, and they only see the channels you chose — WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, email or phone.

Don’t put your phone number, email address or social handle directly in a listing. Listings can be visible publicly, while contact details are shared through the platform only when you choose.

You can report a listing, a group post or a person. The reasons are short on purpose — pick the closest one and add a line if it needs explaining:

• Prohibited item — Weapons, drugs, alcohol, anything illegal
• Scam or fraud — Fake item, advance payment, phishing
• Misleading listing — Not what it claims to be
• Spam — Repeated or irrelevant posts
• Harassment — Abusive or threatening behaviour
• Something else — Tell us below

Blocking is separate and immediate. Block someone and their posts stop appearing for you, and neither of you can message the other. Nothing tells them it happened.
