What we store, what other students can see, and what never leaves your own account.

What we store
Only what the product needs to work:
- Your account — the email you sign in with, your display name, the college you picked, and when you joined.
- Your profile — the contact channels you choose to offer, an optional course, branch and semester, and a profile photo if you add one.
- What you post — listings and their photos (up to 5 each), group posts, requests to join a group, and the items you save.
- Roommate preferences — only if you tick “looking for a roommate”: a move-in date, an optional batch, 5 lifestyle answers, and your gender.
What's public
Active listings and group posts are public to anyone on the internet, signed in or not, along with the display name and college of whoever posted them. That is deliberate — a listing nobody can open is a listing nobody buys, and search engines are how a lot of people find one.
Your own drafts, sold and archived listings are visible only to you. So are your saved items and your join requests.
What's never public
- How to reach you. Your email, phone and social handles are never rendered on a page. A signed-in student asks, and sees only the channels you picked.
- Your gender. It is stored apart from your profile, in a row only you can read, and it is not shown on a profile, a listing, a group or a roommate match. It exists to keep roommate matching same-gender, which the database enforces rather than trusting a filter.
- Your 5 lifestyle answers. They order your matches — who fits best goes first — and are never used to rule anybody out, and never shown as a list of your habits to a stranger.
Photos
The one thing on this page worth acting on.
Listing and profile photos are served from public storage. Anyone with the link can open one, including after the listing is sold or deleted, and including someone who never signed in.
So photograph the item, not the room. Keep your ID card, your hostel room number, your number plate and anybody else’s face out of frame.
Cookies
Two, both doing a job you asked for:
- A sign-in cookie, so you stay signed in between visits.
- A campus cookie, so a visitor who hasn't signed in still gets the college they picked.
No advertising cookies and no third-party trackers. If that ever changes, this page changes first.
Who else touches it
CampusHub247 runs on Supabase, which hosts the database, the sign-in emails and the photo storage. That is the only other party your data passes through.
We don’t sell it, and we don’t share it for advertising.
Deleting things
- Delete a listing or a group post any time, from your own listings or groups.
- Untick “looking for a roommate” and you disappear from matching immediately.
- To delete your account and everything on it, write to support@campushub247.com from the address you signed up with.
A message you already sent stays in the other person’s conversation, the same way a text message does.
